HIGHLIGHT OF 2011 CHAMPIONS CUP!!!

On Tuesday, July 12th, 2011 at The Hyatt Regency Hotel we had the privilege to present Coach Clint Myers as our keynote speaker at the manager's meeting. Coach Clint Myers from ASU, two time college world series winner in 6 years; for more details on all the wonderful highlights of his career and family values, please click here.

Coach Myers and ASU's team mantra is "Greatness is a Way of Life" (also inscribed inside their World Series championship rings). What it means to them is that it is CHOICES. You are a product of your choices, Choose to believe in yourself.

Knowledge is power - understand yourself - take ownership of your choices and understand your role.

As a team: Believe in each other, ask yourself "how can I contribute?", "how can I make a difference?"

On the most beneficial way to get recruited:

  1. Camps - go to on campus camps
  2. Take unofficial visits - as many as possible
  3. Do your homework - research the school, the program, learn about the team
  4. Don't feel like you have to use recruiting services to get recruited - you are your own CEO, stamps only cost 44 cents.
  5. Send postal mail and emails to coaches.

BEHAVIOR at tournaments IS IMPORTANT:
As a coach he looks for:

  • Athleticism
  • How you behave during warm-ups
  • Posture - stay on your feet, move your feet every time, catch the ball in front of you always
  • How you interact with your team mates and your coaches' - always give respect
  • Your dugout behavior - look your coaches in the eye when they talk to you

"Greatness is a way of life", choose to believe in yourself!
